Why Gail for Yale Corporation?
Yale’s Board of Trustees, known as the Yale Corporation, operates behind closed doors. The meeting minutes remain embargoed for fifty years. Contrary to Yale’s proud history of open and robust debate, candidates for Alumni Fellow are asked to stay silent on issues. Gail Lavielle will champion long overdue reforms to fix this unfortunate process. Gail needs 4,464 alumni signatures to appear on the ballot for the 2022 Yale Corporation Alumni Fellow Election. Will you join her?
After 26 years in the corporate world – about half that time in France and the other half in the United States — Gail spent a decade in elected office in Connecticut. As a classical music critic, she wrote reviews for The Wall Street Journal and is the author of a book on opera.
As a public servant, Gail was an accessible and dedicated representative for her constituents. She received numerous awards for her work on education, environmental, and children’s issues.
Gail credits her time at Yale with giving her the necessary tools for an interesting and varied career: an inquiring and rigorous thought process, an openness to different perspectives, and a keen understanding of the value of listening and clear communication.
